Felton Parrish represents parties in business bankruptcy matters and business disputes. He also advises businesses in connection with corporate and financial transactions.
Felton has extensive experience representing parties in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and other situations involving financial distress, and he has represented parties in some of the country's largest bankruptcy cases including WorldCom, Inc., Delta Air Lines, and Caesars Entertainment Operating Company. Felton represents both business debtors and creditors in chapter 11 cases and related litigation. He has also represented purchasers and sellers of distressed assets both inside and outside of bankruptcy. Felton has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights since 2018.
While Felton focuses his practice on business bankruptcy and litigation matters, he strongly believes that the best way to represent parties in business disputes is to fully understand how deals are structured. He also believes that understanding future litigation and insolvency risks is a key component to structuring a successful deal. For these reasons, he also advises business in connection with corporate, real estate and other transactional matters.

Felton lives in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte with his wife and two children. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Ballantyne Residential Property Owners' Association and helps coach youth sports teams.

Representative Litigation Matters
- Counsel to a specialty napkin manufacturer in a multi-million dollar breach of contract action against its supplier.
- Represented hotel developer in dispute with its lender where the lender originally demanded payment of approximately $2 million; the matter ultimately settled for less than $100,000.
- Represented restaurant in construction litigation brought by its general contractor. The general contractor had obtained a default judgment in excess of $100,000, but the default judgment was set aside, and the lawsuit was eventually dismissed with no payment by the client.
Representative Transactional Matters
- Counsel to grocery store chain in restructuring and refinancing of $6 million in bank loans.
- Counsel to owner of franchised sandwich restaurants in the acquisition of additional locations.
- Counsel to borrowers and lenders in connection with business financings.
- Counsel to buyers and sellers of multi-family apartment complexes in transactions ranging from $1.2 million to $3.3 million.
