Nathan White joined Alexander Ricks as a Counsel in 2019. Nathan focuses on complex business litigation and has experience with a variety of areas including contract disputes, trade secrets and intellectual property disputes, enforcement of post-employment obligations, real estate disputes, including issues relating to construction, easements, covenants, and commercial leases, landlord/tenant disputes, business partnership and LLC disputes, debtor-creditor disputes, financial services litigation, as well as defending wrongful death and other negligence actions. Nathan also has experience with regulatory, government, and internal investigations with an emphasis on anti-money laundering. Nathan is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
Nathan began his professional career as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the United States Air Force and served ten years trying a variety of cases as a prosecutor and defense attorney at the trial and appellate levels. In addition to his duties as a litigation attorney, Nathan had the opportunity to serve as an assistant general counsel and worked with commanders from the installation to Pentagon command level to resolve a variety of administrative, military justice, environmental, labor, contracting, fiscal, foreign and operational law issues. These experiences have given Nathan valuable insight into the needs and requirements of his corporate and in-house counsel clients. After separating from active duty and prior to joining Alexander Ricks, Nathan put his trial and general counsel skills to work for his clients beginning his private practice as a litigation associate with Moore & Van Allen. Nathan is a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves and is the General Counsel to the Commander of the 315th Airlift Wing in Charleston, South Carolina, a 2,200 airmen-strong unit tasked with providing worldwide strategic airlift in support of a variety of military missions.Nathan maintains an active pro bono practice, with an emphasis on assisting veterans with a variety of issues.

Nathan hails from Charleston, South Carolina, the son of a career Air Force officer and command pilot. Nathan and his wife Alison have three beautiful children and are parishioners at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church.
- Represented large US publicly-traded building supplies installation company with enforcement of non-compete and trade secrets protection agreements by former employees throughout the Carolinas and Georgia
- Represented international trust company in winding down large asset trust structure, including successfully closing a foreign real estate transaction in France.
- Represented hotel owner in protracted easement dispute; successfully resolved case and replaced 56-year old easement with easement that reflected current realities.
- Advised multinational financial institution in response to global regulatory authorities’ inquiries into alleged money laundering and tax evasion concerns, including leading on-site reviews in Europe and the Caribbean and leading on offsite review in Asia.
- Represented investment banker and successfully dismissed baseless lawsuit brought by former shareholders alleging negligence against client in structuring stock purchase agreement.
- Represented commercial landlord with large-scale code enforcement inspection by City of Charlotte and consumer protection investigation by NC Dept of Justice.
- Advised and represented multiple commercial landlords in landlord-tenant disputes.
