Rafa Alcolea joined Alexander Ricks PLLC in 2026, and concentrates his work in Commercial/Business Litigation, Real Estate Litigation and Construction Law. Prior to joining the firm, Rafa was a litigation associate at a Midwest law firm where he was also a summer associate.
During law school, Rafa served as a law clerk at several Florida agencies, including the Florida Department of Health-Prosecutions Unit, Florida Department of Management Services, and Florida Department of Financial Services. Also, during law school, Rafa earned a pro-bono distinction award for providing beyond-expected pro-bono services for the Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative, where he provided legal assistance to United States Armed Forces veterans in need.
Rafa is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Kansas, and is pending admission in South Carolina.

Born in Spain and raised in between Europe and South America, Rafa moved to Charlotte in 2026. Before law school and the beginning of his legal career, Rafa played collegiate soccer and was a college All-American, which was his soccer program’s first All-American in 15 years. Rafa is an avid fan of his Real Betis Balompié and Florida State Seminoles. On his free time, Rafa enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and watching bad reality TV.
