Jim McLeod became a Member of Alexander Ricks in 2023 after joining the firm as an Associate in 2020. His practice is focused on commercial real estate, and his experience includes representing owners, investors, developers and lenders in a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing, development and financing of office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties.
Prior to joining Alexander Ricks, PLLC, Jim was an Associate in the Real Estate Advisory Services group at Johnston, Allison & Hord, P.A.

Jim was born in Reidsville, North Carolina and moved to Charlotte in 2014. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with family.
- Represented large regional healthcare system in the acquisition of real estate for development and construction of hospital complexes and medical office buildings, as well as negotiation and preparation of medical office leases throughout North Carolina.
- Represented developer in the financing and development of approximately 80 acres in Charlotte, NC for mixed-use development including commercial retail space, medical office space, hotel and senior living facilities.
- Represented several owners of office buildings and office parks in SouthPark and Ballantyne areas of Charlotte, NC in connection with all leasing matters.
- Represented regional bank in connection with an approximately $15 million construction loan to a developer for rehabilitation of an historic building in Winston-Salem, NC, including drafting and negotiating loan documents and accommodating historic tax credit and historic façade easement investors.
